Better Call Saul is a prequel to Breaking Bad, except the main character is Jimmy Mcgill (Saul Goodman). There are many recurring characters from Breaking Bad in Better Call Saul, but most of them are unique.

Although the tv shows take place in the same universe, Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul are very different in terms of plot. In Breaking Bad, the plot is about a high school chemistry teacher who gets cancer and starts cooking meth to provide for his family. In Better Call Saul, the plot is about Jimmy Mcgill, a colorful lawyer who is trying to make a name for himself in the lawyer business. Over the course of the show he becomes more and more corrupt, eventually becoming Saul Goodman.
