Advancements up to Digital Printer

As time went forward, not much advancement would be put into printers, until the invention of Rotogravure! Patented in 1860, the gravure printer works by putting ink on a large cylinder and rolling it. This made a much clearer image, but was soon overshadowed by the Offset Printer! It works by putting a print on rubber for example, then putting the rubber on the paper. This allowed for rapid printing, being much better than letterpress printing, and requiring less parts, and made printing more cost effective. Both techniques are still used today, but with a modern twist. Another advancement that was made was the invention of Flexography, one of the most commonly used type of mass printer today. This was invented more recently, in 1890. Flexography is basically the advanced version of the letterpress, using the same concept but with flexible printing plates. This allows for even more effecient printing, and modern variations are extremely common. Lastly was the invention of the Daisy Wheel Printer! This printer works by having a ring of letters and symbols, and pressing one of the symbols unto paper when called for. This was an important stepping stone to digital printing.
