Section 5: Test
Section 5.1 Feedback from Users
[cite_start]We presented our mobile app prototype to several classmates and gathered their feedback[cite: 26]. Overall, the reception was positive, and they understood the core functionality.
List of feedback from your classmates when you presented your prototype:
- **Positive:** Users liked the idea of matching based on specific courses and preferred study styles. The concept of filtering by availability was also highly praised.
- **Positive:** The initial profile creation flow was intuitive and easy to understand.
- **Suggestion:** Some users requested a feature to see "group activity" or a history of past study sessions within a group, to assess commitment before joining.
- **Suggestion:** A few users asked for a way to indicate if they prefer in-person vs. online study, or even specific campus locations for meetups.
- **Minor Issue:** The initial messaging interface felt a bit barebones; users expected more typical chat features (e.g., emojis, file sharing).
- **Bug/Clarity:** One user was confused about how to "officially" join a suggested group after seeing it in the matching list. The call to action wasn't clear.
Section 5.3 Prototype update
[cite_start]Based on the valuable feedback from our classmates, we have identified several key changes and improvements we will make to our prototype[cite: 27].
List of Improvements to Prototype:
- **Enhanced Group Activity View:** Implement a basic "group history" feature showing the number of past sessions and active members.
- **Location Preference Filter:** Add an option in user profiles and group creation to specify preference for in-person (with campus locations) or online study.
- **Improved Messaging Features:** Upgrade the in-app chat with basic functionalities like timestamping messages and possibly a simple file attachment (for documents).
- **Clear "Join Group" Workflow:** Redesign the UI for joining a suggested group, making the button/action more prominent and clear.
- **"About Us" / Help Section:** Add a simple page within the app that explains the app's purpose and offers basic help/FAQs.
