Purpose & Audience

Purpose: The purpose of the site is about providing tips for people that want to get started on plant care. Users can learn more about different plants, how to take care of them, the difficulty level of each plant, and the chance to submit photos and tips on your own advice for specific plants.

Primary Audience: The primary audience is plant lovers! This can be someone of any age, there is not a specific demographic that the site is aimed towards.

User Goals: Quickly find care instructions, diagnose plant issues, and discover recommended plants for their conditions.

Site Outline

Overview of planned pages and their contents.

• Home: An introduction to the sites and what you can contribute or gain from it. It feautures trending topics, comments, and plants that other visitors are raving about.
• Care Guides: Detailed articles on watering, light, humidity, soil, fertilizing, seasonal adjustments.
• Common types of plants & Difficulty: A beginner's list on good plants to start off on and the traits of each plant. There are tips on how to care for them.
• Comments & Resources: For visitors to comment their own advice and offer resources. There are resources on common mistakes with plant care and how to fix it.
• Submit your own plants and tips/ Contact: Users can submit their own advice and comments on plants, as well as pictures of their plant growth.

Design & Look

Color Palette: The shades of green and warm tones are representative of nature, which also invoke a sense of calmness. The font is large and simple for easy reading, and the layout is very straight forward and requires low effort navigation. Primary: #2f6f44 (deep green), Accent: #f0c987 (warm highlight), Background: #faf9f6, Muted surfaces: #dfe9e2. These colors are representative of plants.

Typography: Sans-serif is used because it looks clean and readable, and the headings are larger for easy viewing.

Layout: I used a card based design for some more imagery, and content is broken into sections for a more organized look.

UX Choices:

• Visual icons and clear texts for easy viewing.
• Search and filter section for plant types based on care difficulty.
• A feauture to save tips or comments on the site.
