Where did it go?

This page will cover events that occured from 1981-2000.

1981- Mario, the famous character loved by all, created by Nintendo, dominates the industry.

1983- Multiplayer gaming is introduced with Dan Bunten's game, M.U.L.E. In this game, players compete to gather resources and save their colony.

1989- Nintendo’s Game Boy revolutionizes handheld gaming. Game Boy isn’t the first ever handheld game with interchangeable cartridges. Milton Bradley introduced his own handheld game ten years earlier, but Game Boy became the favorite with its ease of use and extended battery life.

1991- Sonic the hedgehog was created by Sega, many people especially in the U.S. love this small animal’s antics and attitude.

1994- Blizzard releases Warcraft: Orcs and Humans, a strategy game that introduced many players into the world of Azeroth.

1998- And then, our beloved Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time lets players see the imagined world of Hyrule, with endless characters, puzzles, and one of the most memorable instruments to appear in a video game.
